Calorie Frustration

I have probably thought about this before today, but for some reason it clicked. It is so frustration to know that I spent 45 minutes this morning burning 750 calories in the gym, only to give them right back in a hurry.

Once I got home and sat down for lunch I had replaced the 750 calories in less than 10 minutes. To make it worse I don't even feel like I had enough to eat, but if I am going to stay on my "diet" and lose the weight the Dr.s are all telling me to.

I know experts will tell me that losing weight is burning calories over an extended period of time. Don't look at it one workout or one meal at a time.....but that doesn't make it any less frustrating.

Camping Comfort

In some of my recent research into camping and its popularity I ran across a new look of hammocks specifically made for camping.

I have always thought of the traditional rope hammock that hangs between two palm trees when I think of hammocks, but these camping hammocks they have to offer now are cool. They are easily transportable and easy to set up almost anywhere.

I especially like the idea of finding camping hammocks that have the bug protection built right in. It's a lot easier to sleep when you aren't swatting yourself in the face.

I share more on my findings on camping hammocks on our website http://www.recreationease.com

Time to Think Exercise in the Pool

We have been doing some work recently looking into using pools to exercise and the benefits you will find from that. We have found you can get a full body workout, burn a ton of calories and get in shape without putting much pressure on your joints and muscles.

Click this link, Pool Exercise, and you can find some more detailed information on how to use pools to your advantage.

For those of you that are still battling the cold like we are, this can help get you jump started on the summer and maybe have some warmer thoughts to battle the last few days of winter.

Online Nike Shoe Sale Rarity

We have found an opportunity that has popped up just recently that we want to share with you. It has been hard in year's past to find a sale on Nike shoes on the internet. It was something that really wasn't allowed by the company, but we have found a way for you to save 30% on Nike shoes from where you sit.

I run in Nikes all the time, have run a few marathons, a lot of 5Ks and a 10K or two and they just feel great. I know shoe preference is all in the foot of the runner, but if you are a Nike wearer and want to get your next pair online at a great price stop visit http://www.recreationease.com/jogging.php and you will find that easy way to get a great deal on a pair of Nikes.

Just thought we'd share and happy running!

Jog #1 in the books

Well we got the jog in and it was actually better than I expected. It was a little windy and we live along a busy road. She didn't mind the wind, but the big trucks were bothersome for her. She would get over it pretty quickly and fell asleep eventually so it must have been just fine for her.

It was a lot tougher to run than I expected, especially into the wind, but it is going to be great exercise I hope!!

First Jog w/ a little one

I am hoping to take my first jog with our first child today or tomorrow. She is almost five months old, but has a real sturdy head and holds her body up well so I am encouraged she will be comfortable. When children are this young it is hard to get a workout in and it is hard to find a lot that you can do together other than changing diapers and feeding.

I have been waiting for this first jog since before she was born and I have been impatient. We got a good jogging stroller that is not only easy for me to use....I hope.....but is also comfortable for our little one.

We will see how it goes.
